Online Psychiatry UK
Bringing connection and transformation to life through design.
Creating Connection and Reassurance
As Lead Designer, I developed the visual identity for Online Psychiatry UK, transforming early concepts into a cohesive and engaging brand system. Collaborating closely with the client, I provided regular updates and presentations to ensure alignment with their vision. Once the branding direction was finalised, I created comprehensive brand guidelines and a detailed logo pack to ensure consistency across digital and print applications. This project required a balance of creativity and strategic thinking to craft a meaningful identity that resonated across diverse age groups.
The logo mark draws inspiration from digital interfaces, symbolising an on-off switch reminiscent of camera and microphone controls. This represents users’ autonomy in managing their visibility and voice while subtly reflecting the emotional journey of psychiatric sessions—the natural shifts between good and challenging days, embodying the transition from darkness to light.

The colour palette—light blue, dark blue, orange, yellow, turquoise, and off-white—was carefully selected to balance trust, warmth, and accessibility. Blue tones convey stability and reassurance, orange and yellow introduce energy and optimism, and turquoise symbolises clarity and renewal. Off-white softens the design, preventing a clinical feel while enhancing readability. Together, these colours create a professional yet inviting identity, blending credibility with compassion.
Visualising Journeys and Connection
The final mark evolved from a combination of a visual representation of individual journeys and the abstract ‘O’ and ‘P’ letterforms. It illustrates that while people may move in the same direction, they are at different stages—dots symbolise individuals, and lines represent their paths. Beyond forming the company’s initials, the abstract shapes also depict two heads on either side of a wall, reflecting the nature of online interactions—two people connected yet physically apart.
